NYC eattery's that I LOVE part 1

I have only been back from NYC for 3 days, but I am missing it like crazy!  I am missing the lush apartment on 70th West which was a hop a skip and a jump from the Park, the gorgeous sunshine and the yellow taxi's but most of all I am missing the delicious food that I had whilst I was there.

I have always based the success of a holiday by the quality of the food I eat whilst there and this trip to NYC did not disappoint, so I thought rather than chat fashion which we know is fab in New York I would talk food and the great places that I visited whilst there and there are so many that I have had to split it into 2 posts!

The 1st night was Margarita night and were just the thing to cool me down after catching some serious sun on my shoulders.  We had originally planned the Shake Shack in Madison Square Park but the queue was so long that we went to Harry's Burritos on Columbus Avenue instead and the Burritos were almost as delicious as the Margarita!

Annoyingly I only just found out that there was another Shake Shack on Columbus street and only 4 roads down from where we ate!  So my shake shack experience will have to wait for another US visit.

The 2nd day in NYC was a gastronomic experience, or should I say the big fat lets eat everything day..
Lunch was at Johns Pizzeria on Bleeker street, a lot of people are put off going there because you can't buy the Pizza by the slice but with four of us with hungry bellies there was no stopping us.  We ordered 2 Medium Pizza's one meat and one Veggie and they were delicious.

After eating all that Pizza we walked from Greenwich village through Soho and Little Italy and ended up on Allen Street where we found a restaurant we had been recommended called Rayuela and decided that it would be a great place to return to that evening for, yes you guessed it... more food....

We started with yummy cocktails that tasted like skittles.

Then shared some Ceviche and Oysters (I would return just for the Oysters they were delicious) then I gorged on a Paella Verde which was delicious.

A great finish to a meal is always another drink or two and we had some fizz whilst looking out at the New York Skyline in the roof top bar across the street in the Thompson Hotel and it was a great way to finish a fabulous evening.

Check back tomorrow for the rest of my restaurant visits..
