SOS- Beauty Regime before the Big Day 8 days to go

The Big Day is fast approaching... You may remember the proposal post back last year, well time has really flown by since then and work at CW-Style has been hectic.  With all the work my beauty regime has really taken a hit, but with only 8 days to go I am getting desperate for last minute fixes..

First off I have not gone on some crazy diet... I refuse!  My dress has been made to fit me and it does, so why would I want to lose any weight?

The rest of me however needs some much needed attention this is what I am doing, but if anyone has any suggestions, i would love to have your thoughts..

I have started using this whitening toothpaste, so my pearly whites are just that..

I am taking vitamin tablets and using Solar oil daily, in the hope that my nails will have a sudden growth spurt!

I am prepping my hair with my all time favourite shampoo and conditioner by Kerastase, so that I have gloss factor!

To keep the cold and flu (that everyone seems to have) at bay.  I am having daily Berocca's, is it weird that I actually like the taste of them? (the boots own brand taste vile)

I have also introduced an excessive amount of broccoli into the diet..  It better be working!!

I am then trying to get some last minute arm toning in (as recommended by other Brides).  My trainer at the gym has got me doing kettle bell super sets and boxing...  The boxing is also helping massively with stress relief!!

The End of a Magical Year

2012 has been a magical year to be living in London.  This time last year I was preparing a dinner party for my friends ready to bring in the New Year that held lots of Promise.  As the clock struck 12 and we were all gathered down the road on London's Southbank for the fireworks, none of us really new how much of an exciting year we were about to have!

As a Londoner, The Royal Wedding had been one of the highlights of 2011 so the Queen's Jubilee did not disappoint with an entire weekend of Celebrations, street parties and concerts!

Then along came the OLYMPICS and the PARALYMPICS..  which were possibly the most amazing thing to have happened in London (during my 11 years living here).  London became the most friendly city to live in and as a Nation we finally became proud of our Team.  Gone were the negative and disparaging headlines in favour of patriotic stories of our fantastic Athlete's, helpers and supporters!

2012 was also the year that countless friends turned 30,  5 of them got married, 2 decided to move abroad and 6 got engaged, including ME and my parents celebrated 40 years of Marriage, so this year will go down in my history as being the year I consumed the most amount of Champagne EVER!

But in my personal life 2012 has been like a whirlwind of adventure, my boyfriend Rich made me a very happy lady when he proposed to me at the SAVOY on the 27th of April, I was literally bouncing off the walls with excitement and we have been having so much fun planning our wedding which will be next year. 

But this year has also been an amazing year for my business and this little blog..  I have worked with some amazing people on amazing projects this year..  Styling book covers, fashion shows, red carpet appearances, adverts, 2 channel 4 programme's, 2 pilot TV shows, 3 magazine features for my celeb clients to name a few.  I have also taken on lots of new style clients, featured in a national magazine, started my own You Tube channel and Facebook page and the new website launches in a week!

All in all 2012 has been an amazing year and the great thing is that I know that 2013 is going to be just as exciting with the launch of the new website and the new projects I am starting for work.  The trips abroad I am taking for friends wedding's and to visit those friends who have relocated.  I also have the mother of all Hen Do's to look forward to, my sister is organising it for me and I am excited and terrified about it as it is all a SURPRISE...  

But the most exciting part of 2013 is going to be the 8th of June when I get to wear that big dress and stand in the church with my gorgeous family and beautiful bridesmaids and Marry my best friend and become MRS WALSH...

Great things can happen when you put your mind to it!

The arrival of the ROCK!

This weekend has seen me consume 11 bottles of Champagne (with friends), eat out at 4 different restaurant's, drink at 7 different bars and rather than feel exhausted I feel like I am walking on Cloud 9!

And its all because after just over 5 years of dating Rich popped the question... and after blubbing a lot, I said yes!

As requested, here is the story of the evening...

It started with a cocktail or 2 with my sister at St Martins Lane hotel, (I highly recommend the a pineapple and basil martini) where we had the 'will he ever propose' discussion until he arrived of course! 

Then the he whisked me away from my sister and more martini's to our favourite restaurant J.Sheekey's for Oyster's, Lobster and far too many glasses of Champers!

We sat at the bar in my favourite spot and it was the perfect meal (try the crab croquettes they are to die for).

At this point I thought what a great date night and it would be time for home, but instead he took me to the Savoy for yet another bottle of Champagne, we sat in the sofa in the picture next to the Jazz band who played LOVE followed by Cry Me A River I was singing along as they are 2 of my favourite songs!!  Then he pulled my Nan's ring out of his pocket and asked me to be his bride!!!  Aaaahhhhh

I will be honest, the next few moments of the evening are a massive blur of tears and confusion.  But I said yes and then we moved into the Thames Foyer where it was quieter and we could ring our family's which is where the picture below was taken.

My Nan's ring (known as the cupcake ring) on loan until we have a ring made.  My Nan passed away before I started dating Rich, we were very close and I know that she will love having been part of my engagement.  I am also certain that she would have approved!

After having spoken to our families we took a midnight stroll along the Southbank near our house and sat under the twinkly lights by the OXO Tower with yet more Champagne looking out at the City and St Paul's.
