Dress me for the wedding..

Yes Wedding Season is soon to be here and I have 3 so far in the calendar so finding that perfect outfit is in the back of my head every time I surf the net or go shopping.  But being a stylist I don't want to run the risk of wearing something from the high street and then turn up and see someone else in the same outfit!!!!  That would just be an absolute fashion nightmare so I end up spending a small fortune on outfits to ensure this never happens..

I have shipped Betsey Johnson dresses from the US for that perfect wedding look and in fact have 3 that have done the rounds in various combos, adding bespoke cummerbunds or adapted silk shirts into jackets for the perfect 50's silhouette.  But this year I want to do less sewing (I need to make new curtains my priority)

The first Betsey dress which I have worn to 2 weddings and a party.

The 2nd Betsey dress..

The pink cummerbund I used as belt.

The Coast shirt I adapted into a Jacket

The other Betsey is in the wardrobe being saved for a party on the 2nd which is Mad Men themed!!  (I will of course blog images.)

So let me introduce you to..  (drum role please)  Suzannah, the dresses are to die for and the price tags mean that I am going to be working like a dog to afford them but I think they may just be worth it.

First on my wish list is this gorgeous One Shoulder Tulip Dress £650, The colour is so vibrant and the cut is perfect.  Just think of the colour clash shoes I could do with it too!!  This will be great for the black tie wedding in Chicago.

Then 2nd is this adorable Bat Heart fifties Amy Dress £365 which will work a dream for the traditional English wedding in the summer and maybe for various parties throughout the year!

When it love its love!

Love this dress more than words can describe!!

Have had my eyes on it for ever as it reminds me of my own all time favourite Betsey Johnson dress that I have worn to many a friends wedding:
Sorry for the slightly squiffy face this was the end of the evening.. This dress has been worth every penny as it has seen 3 close friends get married and several horses win big! But since this dress I have not found anything that competes until the Oscar de la Renta gown on Outnet..

But I don't have anywhere near the £1,940.00 required to purchase.. the most upsetting thing is they only have 1 size left.. and it is mine. I want to cry, Outnet please put the price down. Or if anyone know Oscar de la Renta can they ask him to donate this Guipure lace strapless dress to a stylist in need!

NY Fashion Week - Betsey Johnson

Another designer that I really enjoy is Betsey Johnson, I have 3 or 4 of her dresses that are my pull outs and use again for weddings and party's as they are a little tongue in cheek and they only have 1 UK stockist in Covent Garden.
Her A/W10 collection had a Wild West theme with a hay covered runway and looks with very obvious references to saloon girls, vagabonds, cowgirls and robbers! As usual some of the looks were very wearable and others not at all, but a few of my favourites were...

I think this look is really wearable and styling is great fun with the yellow accent...

The print of this dress is adorable, i hope this is one of the designs that she releases early as it would make a great wedding outfit (perfect for my cousins festival wedding)

This dress with bodice over the top would look great for any girl about town with black tights and a bowler hat!
Kelly Osbourne also looked fab on the runway for the designer, I hope we get to see her in some more shows this season..

As well as having some great outfits and a show with with a really fun feel and references to Valentines day, Betsey Johnson also made a massive nod to the passing of Alexander McQueen with this tribute at the end of her show.

Keep your eyes peeled for some of these looks as Betsey releases some of her looks early, so they could be available within the month!
