Polka Dots

Polka dots are huge this autumn/winter as was easy to witness from the Claridges, annual Christmas tree switch on!

Miu Miu's AW13 collection has several spotty items to get you into the mood.  But for a little more inspiration to go dotty this festive season find my top picks from the high street!

Think Pink!

Dusty pink is set to be the hot colour for autumn/ winter this year, making a prominent appearance on the catwalks at London Fashion Week.

Here's some of my top pink picks from the high street at the moment. These are great pieces that can be worn in the remaining days of our summer but can also be carried through to autumn/ winter.

If the Mulberry coat is out of your budget than this Ted Baker one is a perfect cheaper alternative.

Check out my 'think pink' style video on YouTube.

Bring back the Sun!

This change in weather has put a big hold on my summer purchases, for fear that we just had our summer!!!  But to get us all back in the mood for summer here is a vibrant outfit idea for all you colour loving gals out there.

This jacket is a great item to take you through this grey weather and straight into (fingers crossed ) amazing Summer. It is £70 from Oasis and looks great with separates as well as dresses and jumpsuits.

I would pop this fab denim shirt from Mango £29.99 under for warmth but also to give it a more relaxed look.  This is a great wardrobe staple and will work with shorts or a pleated skirt in summer.

Then for that vibrant bit of summer... these jeans are £48 from Oasis and they are great fun if you have the legs to carry them off!  If not then opt for a simple coloured jean.

Tea at the Ritz on a budget

A close friend of mine is going for Tea at the Ritz but needs to find an outfit on a budget, so Sarah here are a few options.

This dress is a copy of the Reiss dress worn be the Duchess of Cambridge, it is great for a bust and is really versatile.  It is also only £19.99, yes you heard me right and is from Dress rail.com.
Pop on these fab shoes to make it a little more fun and go for an over sized colourful clutch.  The shoes are also from Dress rail and are £29.99 and absolutely adorable.
Another dress that would look great with these fab shoes is this Broderie dress £50 from Dorothy Perkins.  It needs a belt or a little jacket to make it a little more glam but is a lovely classic shape and broderie gives it texture and a whimsical feel.

The other alternatives I have found are this cute floral print dress £50 from Dorothy Perkins, pop on a cream belt and then opt for a blue platform shoe to finish the look.

If you are wanting a more chic look try this peach dress £22.45 from Mango  and pop on a crisp white blazer like this one that is £79 also from Mango.

Enjoy The Ritz Sarah.

Jelly Belly's!

I have just returned from the beautiful island of Crete where the boyf and I had the most relaxing holiday ever.  My tan is pretty good considering I usually have skin whiter than milk, it maybe because all my freckles have joined together giving the impression of a tan, but i don't care.  A tan is a tan!

Wherever I am my critical stylists eye remains in switched on mode and there were some very stylish ladies staying at our resort and I had lot's of fashion crush moments but the one I was most envious of was this fab cut out swimsuit.

There were also some really bad fashion moments and the most unforgivable was the short short.  I am a massive fan of the short short and if you have the figure of Cameron Diaz or Cheryl Cole then great you will look fab in them with or without heals.  But when you have a large tummy why why why would you wear them?  Why would you buy low waisted denim hot pants and position your tummy over the top of the fastening?  By the end of the holiday I had seen so many muffin tops and sore thighs that i felt that short short should come with a warning!  If you are not a stick, have a flat tummy or toned thighs then DO NOT WEAR!!!!!

 When short shorts go bad!
I am sorry if Isound like I am ranting, but it upsets me when people don't think about their figures before buying into a trend.  If you have a big tummy but great legs opt for a high waisted short.  If your tummy is good but you have heavier thighs opt for a longer length short or a skirt as it will be soooooooo much more flattering!

After this mini rant I think I should head to the gym to keep my post holiday muffin top at bay!
