Launch Night

Last night saw the exciting launch of the flagship TKMaxx store on Charring Cross Road, and us blogger, press, celebs and invites where treated to a fab night of Gin Fizz cocktails or Champers and yummy canapes.  We were entertained by head candy DJ and a fab dancing troupe styled top to toe in TKMaxx and then got to shop the store before its official opening today!  YAY!  I bought a fab sun hat ready for my holiday.

Here are a few pictures of the fab dance troupe in store:

Another added bonus to this store is that it stocks the new department MODBOX which is the young fashion range.  As a stylist who works a lot with teenagers and young fashion I felt it had a great selection of looks from Varsity, Big chill, Dynasty to Military it really does cater for every one's needs.  Check out looks from the collection at: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0Aod-ucYIBc as they are really great and easy to mix and match with!

If you have not been already than you are missing out so head on down to the Charring Cross branch of TKMaxx to get your discount designer and your fab Modbox selection.  They also have a fab selection of perfumes, one customer mentioned they can only usually purchase some of them in the USA!!

Preparing for my 2nd holiday..

Yes folks you heard correctly, this red haired, fair skinned blogger is subjecting her skin to yet another holiday!  Don't panic it will be factor 30 all the way as I am jetting off to the sunny climbs of Crete!

I started thinking about my summer wardrobe and how I could create a capsule holiday wardrobe and I am currently struggling...  So if I had the budget right now I would go out and buy this lovely selection to complete my capsule wardrobe...

This See by Chloe bag is a great Summer Holiday bag £26.80 reduced from £67 at Net a Porter.
The perfect casual playsuit, I could dress up with heels and gold jewellery for eve and the with gladiators for by the pool. £25 from Topshop.

This gorgeous vest maxi dress from Oasis reduced from £35 to £25.  Probably the most handy buy of the summer (and i did not get it doh).

I really want to buy them..... boo hoo.x

Katie Piper's charity launch

Last night was the launch of The Katie Piper Foundation

As you all know I have had the pleasure of working with the lovely Katie twice before with the NHJ Style team. The first time was to get Katie ready for the Bafta's and the second was on the photo shoot for her website.  Yesterday I did Katie's hair for her launch party, NHJ Stylist Isobel, who also styled Katie in that fab dress for the Bafta's dressed her for the event and a lady called Nadeera did her make-up.  We also had the fabulous Caroline assisting us.

I think you will agree that Katie looked fab as always.  Below are a few pictures from the event, apologies for the terrible photography (I am a stylist not a photographer).

This is a picture of Katie with her patron Simon Cowell, who did a fab speech about Katie the charity and why he wanted to get involved.  I am sorry but I don't know the other lady but I will try and find out.

Katie and her fab family!  I am sorry her dad got blocked by someones hair!
Myself, Katie and Isobel.
If you don't know much about Katie, her story or her charity then visit her website as she is an inspiration and a lovely girl with a very very bright future!

Hello Lover

Back in May, MakeDoStyle asked me to choose my Hello Lover shoes, it is an award created by Fortynotout and I have finally gotten around to photographing my favourite 7 pairs of shoes.

I have loved doing this award as it has made me look at my shoes and realise that I really need some new ones as all of mine are so loved and worn that they look a little on the shabby side. YAY shoe shopping here I come.x

So here are my top 7 (well 8 as I had to mention my all time favourites)

The Carvela cuties, I bought these last season as I loved the colour and have intentions of wearing them next season with different coloured ribbons (red or yellow me thinks)

These beauties are this season from Zara, they were way over my budget but I fell in love and had just got a new am ex the day before so I had to check it was working.  I still love these baby's but truth be told they are the most uncomfortable shoes in history!  I wore them to a school workshop and had no sensation in my left foot by the end of it!
Another pair of Carvela's, these were bought when I was having a CHICAGO moment.  Not as in the windy city but in the Lace, Lycra and all that Jazz way!  I had just bought a lacy dress very on trend for AW08 and thought these would top off the look.
I have 4 pairs of this shoe 3 in black and these.  Yes it seems a little excessive but these Office shoes are the most comfortable EVER!  These cream ones I got in the Sale for £12 and they are great for that summer wedding.
Reiss make fab shoes, a little on the pricey at £149 but they do look great.  I bought these for my friend Tori's wedding to wear with my Betsy Johnson dress and a pink cummerbund.  They did not cripple my feet and they have seen many a night out since.
The same dress made an outing to another friends wedding so I bought these KG shoes to clash beautifully with my electric blue dress.  These have since become my go-to shoes for dressing up a pair of jeans!
Then I have my all time favourite shoes.  They are from Topshop and I bought them the Summer of 2008.  As you can see they are well worn and on their last legs but I really love them and am gutted that it is almost time to part ways!  I am going to try and clean them up with some cream shoe polish but have bought the KG shoes below in the sale as a possible replacement!

Girls on Tour.

As you know, last week I went for a well deserved girls holiday.  Every year my Mum my Sister and I go away to sun ourselves and catch-up.  The last bit is not really needed as we all speak to each other every day but still!
Black was obviously the unspoken travel colour!
We are all wearing current season..
I am wearing a Mango T-shirt with sequins on, a Zara skirt.
Mum is in Artigiano shirt and trousers and Hobbs T
Nicky is in one of my favourite best buys of the season, a Tesco dress which looks fab and way more expensive than it was!
The big suitcase is my Mum's before you think it was mine.

The week in Marbella at The Gran Melia don Pepe, was just what we all needed, armed with piles of books and bottles of factor 30 we chose our spot round the pool that looked out over the sea and stayed there for the entire week, with breaks for dinner and sleep....  It was heaven.  Despite all that time in the sun we all came back looking surprisingly pale (the ability to get uber tanned is not in our DNA, we are of the pale and interesting variety!)

Whilst away I got to try out some of my fab summer sale purchases from this year and last year as Cornwall (my summer holiday last year) did not require pretty summer dresses more wet suits!

I of course kept a photo diary of my favourite outfits:

This is my Selfridges sale buy: McQ dress reduced from £350 to £150 and my Miss KG shoes reduced from £70 to £49.
This little dress is probably the best purchase I have made all Summer, I first saw it when Styling a shoot as it had been sent in from Arcadia press department and I then went in search of it in my size!  It was only £35 but is a great every day dress.  The belt is Karen Millen and as I took on a carry-on size case the shoes are the same as above.
Another buy from this season is this maxi from Miss Selfridge, I cant remember how much it was.  I loved the fact that this had the tube top which means that I feel secure when wearing it but i also loved the country  print which works really well with denim. (in my head i am running through a field of corn or rolling in a haystack when wearing it).
A purchase from last years sale was this great all in one from Sweaty Betty, it is fab for wearing down to the pool or breakfast.  The turban is more necessity than fashion but i thought it was a fab look, had I had make-up, heels and gold jewellery on I think it would have worked!
I love going on holiday and now I am back I am already planning my next one, Maldives anyone?

flip flop!

I am loving the Nomad traveller fashion trend and really want to try out the look.
I have a fab jump suit and a great turban but the next purchase on the list is these lush  Deepi Aztec cuff sandals from accessorize!

They are £35 but well worth it.  I am yet to find them in my size but I am hoping that they will have them at the airpot tomorrow!  Fingers crossed then i will be able to show you the completed look!

watch this space for a preview.
