Glasto for Gals

Yesterday was an outfit for the boys so today it is time for the girls and I have chosen 3 looks all with a similar feel.

The first 2 looks use this great Kimono Top £25 from Boohoo as the base.

Wear this Yellow Lace and Fringe top £26 with these fab Denim Shorts  £26 both from Topshop for a great summery festival look.

If you don't have the waist for the cropped top then try a Playsuit like this Topshop one, its £36 and a great addition to your summer wardrobe.

Another great top option is this Broderie Anglaise top £36 also from Topshop, team it with a coloured jean like this Rust pair from ASOS £35.

Then all your will need to add to your outfit is a pair of Wellies (TKMaxx have a great selection all year round) and a hat and you are ready to go...x

eattery's NYC part 2

So first port of call on our 2nd morning in NYC was the Magnolia Bakery (on columbus not the  bleeker street one).  Its known for its delicious iced cupcakes, but I had the raspberry crumb muffin and it was heavenly!

My sister looked as cute as a cupcake that day so I had to take a picture of her...

Lunch... after an hour of walking and 2 hours rowing was at The Boathouse (hence the rowing).  I have wanted to go here ever since seeing the film '27 dresses' and I was so glad that we got in for lunch (we waited for about 2 and a half hours) but it was well worth the wait..

This is the view of the Boathouse from the lake..

The view of the lake from inside, If i lived in New York and was having a summer wedding, I would want it here!

Not only was the setting, the view and the weather amazing, the food and drink that we consumed was fabulous.. 2 of my favourite things were on the menu Sancerre and Lobster, so we drank beautiful wine and ate beautiful food..

As you can imagine after all that food at lunch we skipped dinner and headed straight out on the town to A60 the roof bar at the 60 Thompson Street Hotel, it was lovely sitting on the roof and the drinks were nice but it was a little on the cold side..

Had to include this picture to show that the Miu Miu's made it to NYC with me.

From there we headed to the Meat Packing District and I will be honest it is all a bit of a Gin and Tonic blur from that point on!  But i do remember getting Pizza at 4am and thinking it was delicious.

You would think that after all of that food and partying that we would be sick of eating out, well you would be wrong on the last night after a final day of sight seeing and shopping we ventured to Chelsea and found the cutest restaurant on 10th Avenue called Red Cat.  It had a great interior and is one of those restaurant's that had real atmosphere and the all important glow (good lighting).  We drank a delicious bottle of Albarino and munched on soft shell crab followed by apple beignets which were heavenly.  I would highly recommend a visit for the atmosphere if you just want a drink at the bar but promise me you will try the beignets trust me...

Unfortunately now I am back in the real world and pounding my body at the gym to make up for the indulgence, but It was so worth it and Mrs MDS is my diet inspiration.

Emma Ware necklace

Ok today was meant to be part 2 of the NYC dinners but so many people have commented on my necklace today that I thought I should do a mini post about it!

This is the necklace that I got earlier this year from Emma Ware after using some of her pieces in a photo shoot.  The necklace is called The Palm and is £48.  It is made from recycled rubber and has a gold finish effect on it.

The complete outfit:
I am wearing it over a dress that I bought from Anthropology whilst I was in the US and the leather jacket is from Oasis.

NYC eattery's that I LOVE part 1

I have only been back from NYC for 3 days, but I am missing it like crazy!  I am missing the lush apartment on 70th West which was a hop a skip and a jump from the Park, the gorgeous sunshine and the yellow taxi's but most of all I am missing the delicious food that I had whilst I was there.

I have always based the success of a holiday by the quality of the food I eat whilst there and this trip to NYC did not disappoint, so I thought rather than chat fashion which we know is fab in New York I would talk food and the great places that I visited whilst there and there are so many that I have had to split it into 2 posts!

The 1st night was Margarita night and were just the thing to cool me down after catching some serious sun on my shoulders.  We had originally planned the Shake Shack in Madison Square Park but the queue was so long that we went to Harry's Burritos on Columbus Avenue instead and the Burritos were almost as delicious as the Margarita!

Annoyingly I only just found out that there was another Shake Shack on Columbus street and only 4 roads down from where we ate!  So my shake shack experience will have to wait for another US visit.

The 2nd day in NYC was a gastronomic experience, or should I say the big fat lets eat everything day..
Lunch was at Johns Pizzeria on Bleeker street, a lot of people are put off going there because you can't buy the Pizza by the slice but with four of us with hungry bellies there was no stopping us.  We ordered 2 Medium Pizza's one meat and one Veggie and they were delicious.

After eating all that Pizza we walked from Greenwich village through Soho and Little Italy and ended up on Allen Street where we found a restaurant we had been recommended called Rayuela and decided that it would be a great place to return to that evening for, yes you guessed it... more food....

We started with yummy cocktails that tasted like skittles.

Then shared some Ceviche and Oysters (I would return just for the Oysters they were delicious) then I gorged on a Paella Verde which was delicious.

A great finish to a meal is always another drink or two and we had some fizz whilst looking out at the New York Skyline in the roof top bar across the street in the Thompson Hotel and it was a great way to finish a fabulous evening.

Check back tomorrow for the rest of my restaurant visits..

Get connected

French Connection have the most fabulous jumpsuits and playsuits at the moment so I recommend that you get down there and make a connection with a playsuit, I promise you will not be disappointed.

Here are my top 3:

This long jumpsuit has a cross over front and a palazzo feel to the leg that feels really comfy.  If you have a bigger bust you will need a little top underneath but when you put it on you will feel really glamourous and tall.  Its £167.00 and comes in several colours.

I actually have this great one shoulder jumpsuit called Betsy and the trousers are great for showing off some fab shoes like my Miu Miu's, it is £97.00 and jersey so will not crease if you are wanting something that will travel well for holidays.

This playsuit is great for any girl who has a great set of pins, again it is quite low cut with the crossover front but is a great addition to your wardrobe for day or night.  Its called Apollo and is £137.00 try layering the vibrant yellow racer back T (also from French Connection) underneath for a fab day look.
