I am a Vans Fan..

I have always been more of a high heel girl, but when the boyfriend requested a pair of authentic Vans, I found myself drawn to trainers...  Yes I said trainers!

It is not just because I am a shopaholic, that I found myself purchasing 2 pairs of the lovely trainer at Office on Neal Street, rather than just one.  It was because they are actually great looking trainer/plimsolls perfect for that flat alternative to a pump (which I find actually really hurt my feet after a while).  They also come in great colours which make them more statement than necessity.  I bought myself a pair of grape coloured ones which served me very well this weekend on my trip to Prague!

This is a pic of me and boyfriend in our lovely Vans pounding the streets of Prague
Ps ...my leg is the non hairy one!!

Adel Andic's Show at The Valmont Club

Last week I helped out designer Adel Andic with her show at The Valmont Club

I talked through her collection with her the week before and discussed some changes.  She added 2 new looks to the collection and we adjusted how the hair and make-up would look to give the collection stronger impact!

I dressed the models and did the hair for show and thought that the outcome was much stronger than at Alternative fashion Week.
Check out some of the behind the scenes pics:

This is the accesories table and our running order pics..

The Hair..

Some images of the fab models looking Fierce in the collection...

Delicious Denim

After seeing the wonderful Mrs MDS in her double denim get up a few weeks ago, I was inspired to update my denim looks!

I have done the wide leg jean with the different denim shirt but fancied something a little more playful.  My inspiration came in the form of Daisy Lowe on the recent Vogue pull out cover in a divine little strapless aged-denim number.  The look was fresh and clean and really simple and the dress was only £25 from H&M what a bargain!  However I don't have Daisy's figure, my bust is much bigger and I am not so happy with such a short skirt, so my search began.  I did not have to look for long as this fab little number caught my eye in Warehouse, it may be £20's more expensive but it has more material in it and it is a much better fit for my body shape.  I have popped my Karen Millen belt to add a bit of zing, I think with a few extra accessories this could be my favourite summer outfit and will look great with my dark denim shirt over the top.

I can then add va va voom with this fab Reiss hat...

And purchase some fab white wayfarer sunglasses by Rayban to finish the look! (or get some lookalikes from the lovely Primarny as I am very clumsy after a few glasses of Pimms)

Photoshoot

On Monday I was styling a photoshoot using some of the design talents that I found at the Alternative fashion Week.  I had 2 models from Cosmic Models, 1 photographer Jarka Snajberkova, 1 make-up artist Tara Mears and me doing styling and hair and it was a great sucess.  The object of the shoot was to give the designers shots of their garments and to expand the models portfolio's.

I am not a great photographer but I wanted to take some pics to share on the blog before I get the official images back from Jarka the photographer on the day.  I would love to know what you think!

The first Images are Elisbeth Hamlyn's knitwear:

The fab dress below is by Emma McGinn, cuff by Mary Ratcliffe

Then I used this amazing Lingerie by Nicole Gill (accesories my own)

The final looks were using designers Mary Ratcliffe, Lucy Tiffney and Hatastic (the jumpsuit I created for the look)

Edible Fashion - Anyone?

Don't panic I am not talking edible undies...  I am talking adorable  hand iced biscuits!!

As you may remember my big Sis turned 30 in February and as well as buying her a keep-sake I decided to buy her a gift that we could do together.. 3 months later and we are now knowledgeable in the art of cookie decorating!

On Sunday we attended the Fashiontastic cookie course at The Make Lounge in Islington and It was cookietastic!  There were 10 of us in the class all with different levels of decorating knowledge.  The girls sat next to big sis and I were a real giggle and had as much of an obsession with edible glitter and baubles as we did! The teacher Danya Eltchelebi who also runs BIX & PIECES was very patient and helped me more than once try and correct my yellow Tea Dress design.

Big Sis was able to pose and decorate...

I was un-able to pose and decorate..  It was hard!

Check out my cookies....
Dirty Martini anyone?

The newest Tom Ford Sparkle Lipstick!
Yellow tea dress with Lucy Hutchings necklace!
My very own Christian Laboutin.
Chanel/Miu Miu inspired clutch.
The ever so edible engagement ring!

Big Sis's cookies
Flower power Lulu Guinness clutch
You've been Tangoed ball gown!
Anyone for a Cosmopolitan!
Studded shoe and the engagement pineapple
Coral Twist lipstick (perfect with nudes!)

They look great don't they?!  I especially love my sisters ring which she turned into a pineapple!

I highly recommend attending any of the courses at The Make Lounge ... especially the cookie decorating.  My next course will probably be the Cupcake Decorating but I will need to attend the ym to work off the cookies first...  I only have 3 left!

Everyone loves a winner..

I am not just talking the lottery, although this evening's 67million jackpot would not go a miss!

But winning and getting a little bit of something for nothing always makes me walk a little bit lighter on my feet.

Why is she wittering on about winning I hear you cry! Well you may or may not remember that at the beginning of the year CW-Style held a competition to win a free 3 hour shopping trip and £50's worth of John Lewis Vouchers to spend on the trip. Well the lucky winner was Kat Skidmore a gorgeous gal from Kent and today was her PRIZE DAY!

The shop was a great success, she had saved some cash to add to her voucher winnings and we shopped until we dropped in Pret a Manger for a well earned sarnie!

Kat had said that she lacked a summer wardrobe and seemed to only have trousers and skirts and very few tops. So I concentrated my attention on getting her some summer tops and dresses that would instantly lift her wardrobe..

Here is a picture of an exhausted Kat with her purchases...

We stuck to 3 shops as we only had a small amount of time.. and we also fitted in a bra fitting!!

From H&M Kat got..

  • 1 summer work dress

  • 2 casual summer dresses a safari style and a print dress

  • 2 Summery tops in vibrant pink

From Selfridges.

  • Oasis puff sleeve top in vibrant blue

  • Karen Millen T-shirt with embroidery detail
From John Lewis:

  • 2 fab bras

  • 2 great coast tops a pale blue and a black and white print.

It is amazing how many different outfits she can create with her existing wardrobe by adding these purchases and we stuck with in her budget!
Here is a picture of Kat with her favourite item:

Busy doing ... Nothing

Slap my wrist, for I have been a bad blogger!
I apologise for my lack of online antics, but I had the rents to stay for a long weekend and they stay in my basement which is also my office... and when they were not in the office the boyfriend who is studying his socks off for exams at the end of May is!!! Which means no blog time for Waceystyle.

This morning I returned to my perfect little office and I feel so at home. I also have a ton of paperwork and blogging to get done before my client this evening.

SOOoooooooooo.......

Last week I attended the My Wardrobe Autumn/Winter 10 Press event and wanted to fill you in on the items I thought were fab. As you may or may not know I am a little bit obsessed with accessories so most of my fab finds were accessories!

I loved this beautiful head piece by Mezi which were a last minute addition but a great alternative accessory. I wear hairbands and jewelled hair accessories all the time and this looked great against the colour of my hair! (see MDS blog)

These Sam Edelman shoes are my new shoe heaven!! Having realized that I will never get my hands on my Miu Miu's I will be buying these. They are Fierce!

Boyfriend.... I would love this Mulberry bag... pretty please. x
Then my favourite stand out was the fabulous jewellery by Merle O'Grady.. check out the fabulous selection..

This is Black Onyx!

And these rings are just as fierce as the shoes above and would therefore need to be another addition to the ever growing jewellery box!

There was also some fabulous new jewellery from Lucy Hutchings but as I have the most terrible camera the pictures are all out of focus! You will all just have to wait until they go on sale but as usual they are adorable!

In fact I was even wearing her jewellery on the day, picture courtesy of MDS
