Never underestimate the power of a sequin...
It can be dressed up or down and instantly makes you feel sexy!

My top sequin high street looks:

Mint Velvet look: Pop on some ankle length leggings and some killer shoes and Rock this sequin dress with style:
The dress is £199.00 from Mint Velvet (available in House of Fraser)

Then Layer this fab leather jacket £225.00 from the same label to give the sequins edge.

The Day look: Team these 2 tops with skinny jeans or leather trousers and some shoe boots

The top is Reiss £79.00 but there are similar in Topshop and Oasis for less.

 Then add this green Ted Baker cardigan £99.00 which can be worn 3 ways (check back next week for all the different ways)

Last but not least try something different with this Michael Kors sequin skirt £150.00 but you can buy similar from H&M for £19.99.  

To finish the look opt for a coloured knit like this one from Zara £19.99 and a skinny belt to cinch in your waist.

Colour Crush.

I am loving clashing my colours this week especially with the sun shine that has been gracing our sky's.

My outfit inspiration came from clearing out my wardrobe and finding a top that I had used for a photo shoot about 3 months ago with photographer David Cummings and make-up artist Patrizia Lio, I loved doing the shoot and this shot had such great colour combos.

My outfit is a mix of new and old the white jacket I have had for years but comes into play every summer, the yellow top is Warehouse, the skirt is River Island and the shoes are Miss KG. 

Capsule Christmas Wardrobe

OK it is time for me to pack up my presents and decamp to my Parents for the Christmas weekend.  But looking into my wardrobe I found that nothing was inspiring me for the festive frolics.  So I popped on my coat, hat and gloves and ventured across Waterloo bridge and into Covent Garden for some Christmas wardrobe shopping!

My first and actually my only stop was Oasis, I have not been in there for a while but needing some new jeggings I was inspired to take a look despite its shocking layout since its refurb!  Low and behold I managed to get everything a girl could need for the festive weekend!  So here is my Capsule Christmas Wardrobe 75% of which is made up of the Oasis purchases.

This everything ready for packing except shoes!  I have kept everything in the same colour pallet which makes mixing and matching a little bit easier.  I usually really mix up the colours and the accessories but these outfits are really versatile so I stuck with quite a dark selection that can be jazzed up easily.

Outfit 1:  The party outfit

This dress is a great party look and takes little to no thinking about, the embellishment on the neckline means that accessories can be kept top a minimum and the make-up and hair can be your wow factor!

I have packed these purple tights (but you could opt for red), Silver heels from Reiss, Coast earrings and a silver cocktail ring.

 Outfit 2: Christmas Day
I always want to look glam on Christmas day but I also want something that I can move around in and that looks good start to finish.  Traditionally I have opted for a dress but this year I am going for black jeggings and Print shirt from Oasis, waistcoat from Ted Baker and the shoes in the above look (I will swap them for knee highs if we venture out)

To accessorise I am wearing my Lucy Hutching earrings and my Dorothy Perkins ring and my make-up will be plum and metallic based!  You could swap the jeggings for leather trousers if you have the legs!

 Outfit 3: Boxing Day Drinks
I will be using the Jeggings from look 2 and teaming them with this floaty top from Oasis but it could be put with leather trousers or a pencil if you have room for an extra item!  I opted for this as it will probably cover the over eating of Christmas day!

 I am wearing these fab gold and black earrings and my black cocktail ring for this look.  I will also opt for red lips and a hair up for this outfit to make it a little more glam.

I will also be taking my knee high boots to wear with outfit 3, but they work with all of the outfit choices.

I will be taking my 2 Christmas nail varnishes just in case I get a chip...  I start with the lighter and then pop on the darker colour for the last few days!

Outfit 4: Spare
For casual I am taking this fab M&S jumper dress and some black leggings just in case there are any spillages!

So know that I am packed it is time to head back to snowy Essex and pop open some champers!

Winter Accessories - Wish list

I love it when the weather starts getting cold and I can start thinking about my winter accessories list!  The list is ever changing and usually involves a fantasy story to accompany each accessory, and subsequently usually ends up being a catalogue rather than a list, here are a few that I have added for the time being!

I love theses purple over the knee socks from River Island.  They are only £6.99 and will look fab with my brogues and great to keep me warm in  my drafty house!  (actually I have already purchased them, oops)

Because my house is so cold in Winter I usually wear my fluffy sheep slippers, but have not found any replacements that I love yet.  I will of course keep looking but should I fail I have found these fab furry feet warming boots from Zara, the downside is that they are £108 and I am not sure if they are worth it!

This little pom pom eared Bear face beany is SO adorable.  I think the child in me is imagining wearing this and diving into a heap of autumn leaves, and I am loving the dream, so I will be parting with 12 of my hard earned pounds at Topshop in the very near future!

Once I have embraced my inner child and frolicked in the leaves, I will be reverting back to the uber glamorous woman that I am and sport this fabulous statement necklace, £95 from Reiss, with an even more fabulous frock (yet to be chosen) whilst drinking champagne in front of an open fire in a gorgeously opulent country manor hotel with my beloved!

Did I mention that I love Autumn Winter?

Ode to Amy

Recently my lovely friend Amy asked my thoughts on Winter coats and which ones had caught my eye..  So this little post is just that!

I love Winter and I am a girl who gets excited about packing away my summer clothes and bringing out all my lovely autumn winter favourites!  In fact, I did just that yesterday evening and the joy was all most too much to handle.

I am of the opinion that a winter coat is a big investment and that it should last you more than 1 winter.  I currently have a 'Happy Loves It' coat and I still think it works as it is a classic shape and looks just as good as the day I bought it!  But if I were investing again this year, which trust me I am tempted too every time I go shopping.  I would be opting for a classic shape that will look and feel great, but will stand the test of time.

This Reiss coat £325 fits the bill perfectly, it is flattering to the body, has just enough detail to not look boring, a high neck which is great for keeping the bad weather off your face and would look great with a coloured or camel coloured belt popped around the waist to add a little more excitement!

For something a little more unusual, I would opt for a Cape and this one from Warehouse is fab.  I might change the buttons to add a bit of interest and wear some long coloured gloves to finish the look but  at £75 it is a great addition to the winter wardrobe.

Another trend that is massive this season is Camel, so camel coloured coats and jackets are everywhere and most are trench or jacket shapes.  Personally I would opt for this snugly looking Batwing number £110 from Topshop.  It looks warm and stylish at the same time with a nod towards the Madmen trend.  I am predicting a very cold winter so this would be my coat of choice for extreme British weather.

Then we have the I wish I could afford this jacket, its £1800 from Jaeger and I Love Love Love it, why?  Well it has shearling on it, another massive trend for this season but it has it in a Luxury, more ME way than the flying jackets do!  I can just imagine popping on a fabulous dress, killer shoes and then slinking into this jacket to finish the look!

So I am off to play the lotto to see if I can win enough to buy my Jaeger coat!  Fingers crossed everyone. x

Delicious Denim

After seeing the wonderful Mrs MDS in her double denim get up a few weeks ago, I was inspired to update my denim looks!

I have done the wide leg jean with the different denim shirt but fancied something a little more playful.  My inspiration came in the form of Daisy Lowe on the recent Vogue pull out cover in a divine little strapless aged-denim number.  The look was fresh and clean and really simple and the dress was only £25 from H&M what a bargain!  However I don't have Daisy's figure, my bust is much bigger and I am not so happy with such a short skirt, so my search began.  I did not have to look for long as this fab little number caught my eye in Warehouse, it may be £20's more expensive but it has more material in it and it is a much better fit for my body shape.  I have popped my Karen Millen belt to add a bit of zing, I think with a few extra accessories this could be my favourite summer outfit and will look great with my dark denim shirt over the top. 

I can then add va va voom with this fab Reiss hat...

And purchase some fab white wayfarer sunglasses by Rayban to finish the look! (or get some lookalikes from the lovely Primarny as I am very clumsy after a few glasses of Pimms)
