Sparkle on Christmas Day

I am a traditionalist when it comes to Christmas I like a real tree, beautiful decorations, candles, mulled wine, Carols and Snow.  This year it turns out that Snow is not very likely to arrive for the 25th, but just because the ground won't be sparkling like icing on a Christmas cake does not mean that there wont be sparkle at our Festive gathering.

I always opt for a bit of Sparkle on Christmas day and this year I will be doing it again so here are my top sparkle recommendations for Christmas Day outfits:

This Jumper from the white Company is a great casual option and feels so soft against your skin.

Or this T-shirt from Ted Baker is great with a pair of skinny's and some killer heels for a more sassy look.

This Blouse from Oasis looks really elegant on but definitely requires a smaller bust to get the best look.

A little Jumper dress is always easy to wear when your running around looking after guests or little ones and this Warehouse one has the sequin detail on the arm which looks really flattering.

I also love these shorts from 18 and East as they can be dressed up or down depending on your choice of top.

The Christmas Covet list has begun

Walking round Covent Garden with it's giant Christmas bauble decorations this weekend got me into the Christmas spirit earlier than I was intending.

I also think it was my little visit to the Kate Spade boutique on Henrietta Street.  I love visiting Kate Spade shops when I am in New York and the treat of visiting the store in Covent Garden made me feel like I was shopping in the Big Apple!

The thing I love about Kate Spade is the accessories and the nic-nacs so here are my top pic of Christmas covetables..

As you all know I love a good purse and it is my belief that they should be colourful things of beauty and this little gem fits the bill, not to mention the fact it comes in 4 fab colours (it is almost as lovely as my Mulberry):

Next on the covet list are these 2 fab rings, I am obsessed with rings and have hundreds that cater to my daily fashion whim's.  The first reminds me of a gorgeous gold ring that I used to own and subsequently I think it would be perfect to add to my collection for an everyday gold ring!

The second ring is this fabulous emerald coloured cocktail ring, not only is the ring a gorgeous colour but I adore the packaging and think it would make a great little gift for my cocktail loving friends. (Miss sugarplumslipper there is sadly no cosmopolitan but they do have a Manhattan).
Another gift that I thought was really lovely were the collection of necklaces with words on them ranging from, Cheers, I do to Mrs.  But I really loved this Smile option.

Last but by no means least I adore this multi coloured bib necklace, it would glam up a boring LBD and would look fab under a classic white shirt and as such will be on my list to Santa!

All of the items above can be bought online but I would highly recommend a visit to the store in person!

Fantastic Furs

As the weather has turned cold i have been looking at there ever present Faux Fur trend to find that perfect snugly coat option and I have finally found the perfect coat from Miss Selfridge.  It was £89 and since trying it a few weeks ago none have quite felt as cosy as this one!

If you want something shorter and a little retro I would highly recommend this Faux fur from Ted Baker, it is £199  and will work really well through the party season!

Or try this Coast one for a more glam look, it is £250 and a classic shape and will stand the test of time.  Not to mention looking fab whilst walking down Bond Street under the Christmas lights with a Tiffany's bag in hand!

Today I head off for 3 nights of relaxation at the gorgeous Ragdale Hall health Spa in Leicestershire so I will not be blogging for the rest of this week, but I will be filling you in on the top treatments on my return.

But while I am away imagine me relaxing in this glorious setting with a glass of Champagne in hand and the weight of the world lifted off my shoulders!

The power of the SEQUIN..

Never underestimate the power of a sequin...
It can be dressed up or down and instantly makes you feel sexy!

My top sequin high street looks:

Mint Velvet look: Pop on some ankle length leggings and some killer shoes and Rock this sequin dress with style:
The dress is £199.00 from Mint Velvet (available in House of Fraser)

Then Layer this fab leather jacket £225.00 from the same label to give the sequins edge.

The Day look: Team these 2 tops with skinny jeans or leather trousers and some shoe boots

The top is Reiss £79.00 but there are similar in Topshop and Oasis for less.
Then add this green Ted Baker cardigan £99.00 which can be worn 3 ways (check back next week for all the different ways)
Last but not least try something different with this Michael Kors sequin skirt £150.00 but you can buy similar from H&M for £19.99.

To finish the look opt for a coloured knit like this one from Zara £19.99 and a skinny belt to cinch in your waist.

Party Dresses Part 5 - The Strawberry

4 fab dresses for those strawberry ladies:

The key is to balance out broader shoulders by adding volume to your hips and this Whistles dress
£150.00 does it with a really simple frill along the base of the skirt.

Another fab choice from Whistles is this black dress £175.00, the sheer straps break up the shoulder while the full skirt creates a hip.

This One shoulder dress from Warehouse  £75.00 comes in serveral colours and is perfect for dancing the night away in!

But the really fun party dress is this 60's inspired dress from Ted Baker £129.00.  The halter breaks up the shoulder beautifully.

Party dress part4 - the hourglass

4 fab dresses for those with the hourglass figure.

This bandage pleat dress £89.99 from Phase Eight clings to all the right place to show off those fabulous curves.  It is also very accommodating for a bigger bust!

If you fancy a bit of print this party season then this dress from Coast £125.00 is a fun and flirty option.

But for va va voom this sequin number £90.00 from Warehouse ticks all the boxes for flattering a curvy figure but is also great fun add an oversized clutch and you will look instantly stylish.

For the really glam party outfit check out Damsel in a dress as they have an amazing selection of figure hugging sexy full length dresses.  This red dress is £219.00 and is available in John Lewis, I always opt for red over black (what can i say i love that Chris de Burgh song).

Perfect Party dress Part 3 the Rhubarb

5 perfect dresses for our Rhubarb ladies

This lace dress £175.00 is from whistles and is great for creating more curves with its sweet- heart neckline in the bodice and the tiered skirt gives more of a hip.
This may not be a dress but it falls under party wear and this Dorothy Perkins jumpsuit £50.00 has a dropped waist, hip pockets and a fab frilled neckline all adding curves to your figure while showing off your slim limbs!

This dress is also from Whistles for £150.00, the draping at the front enhances a small bust and the waist panel creates a lovely hip line!

This dress From Zara £89.99 is great fun.  It cinches in the waist and the cap sleeves and full skirt create the illusion of a hourglass figure.

For a more glam dress try this Ted Baker number £119.00, the colour is great to make you stand out at a party and the cutouts and panels help to highlight your slender frame.

Perfect party dress Part 2 - Apple shaped ladies

5 top dresses for all you apple ladies:

My first top pick for ladies who are apple shape is this jersey dress from Ted Baker £110.00 as it is tight fitting through the hip and thigh area to show off fab pins but has a great slouch waist to disguise the tummy area.  Accessorise this with a fab long necklace to make it feel more glam.
For a more glam option try this gorgeous dress from Coast £125.00 as the ruching is really flattering on a tummy and the neckline flatters any size bust.

If your wanting something more fun for a party try this fab little dress from Very £49.00 add high denier tights and some killer heels and your ready to party.

For the glam Christmas party option this dress also from coast £145 is perfect with its capped sleeve and ruched waist.

One last option for the more mature apple is this fab dress£45.00 from Per Una at Marks and Spencer's.  I could hardly believe that this was Per Una when i saw it as it has much more of a limited collection feel. Either way this  dress is great for flattering a bigger tummy.

Tomorrow is the turn of the rhubarb.

Little Party dress for all shapes and sizes part 1, The Pear

Over the last few weeks I have been styling women in the perfect party dresses in shopping centres up and down the country, so over the course of this week I am going to share with you the gems that popped up for each body shape.

Today is the turn of the pear:

This Dorothy Perkins dress £36.00 was a great fit on most ladies and was really easy to dress up with a bit of bling for the perfect  casual party outfit.

For something a little more dressy we found this Matthew Williamson Butterfly collection dress at Debenhams £85.00 really flattered the hips and more importantly defines that tiny waist!

For the real party girls who wanted a fab little number to dance the night away in this Warehouse sequin dress £70.00 really fitted the bill.  Go for the size that fits your hips and the top will slouch over to balance out your body, use a long necklace to break up the neckline.

The formal Christmas party option is this fab Madmen inspired dress £229.00 from Hobbs, the shoulders balance out the hips and the ruched waist really cinches you in!

Check back tomorrow for the best choices for the apple girls!
